Holy Transformation! Mike’s Story

Today we’re going to share a pretty incredible transformation. Mike, a fairly new member, has joined us and busted his ass since the beginning. He was always willing to learn, take criticism, and grow from it. That, along with a huge level of commitment to “the lifestyle” has allowed him to transform in a MAJOR way!
Mike joined the phase before our most recent Best Me Yet challenge. During his trial, he became a member and signed up for that challenge. At his first InBody scan he weighed 192.5 pounds, had 87.1 pounds of muscle, and 20.8% of his body was fat. The challenge was 10 weeks long and during that time he was able to lose 12 pounds. What makes that number better is not only did he drop 6.1% of body fat, but he also gained a bit of muscle (1.3 pounds).
I’d like to take a second and talk about another important number that Mike was able to decrease. It was his visceral fat and he went from an 8 to a 5. Why are we going to mention this? Because: “Visceral fat is stored in a person’s abdominal cavity and is also known as ‘active fat’ as it influences how hormones function in the body. An excess of visceral fat can, therefore, have potentially dangerous consequences. Because visceral fat is found in the abdominal cavity, it is close to many vital organs such as the pancreas, liver, and intestines. The higher the amount of visceral fat a person stores the more at risk they are for certain health complications, such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.”
But it hasn’t stopped there! Since that check-in, Mike has gained another 1.3 pounds of muscle, lost another 2.5% of body fat, for a total weight loss of 15.7 pounds!
